It’s now one week into our “Match the Texans” Fundraiser and we wanted to share some more information about this unique campaign. As you may know, this match challenge is made possible through the generosity of donors Carvel Glenn and Randall Lamb of Texas, who are the same donors behind the single largest financial contribution in the history of the Friends of SJM.

What makes this most recent pledge unique is that in an effort to specifically inspire Sitkans, Southeast Alaskans, and people across our state to donate to the Friends of Sheldon Jackson Museum, Carvel and Randall have pledged to match each donation dollar-for-dollar during the match period (Feb. 1 – Apr. 30, 2022). All gifts are welcome, including corporate gifts and gifts from afar, and all gifts shall be matched dollar-for-dollar. But this is specifically a call to the people of Alaska to support this wonderful Alaskan resource. This is a wonderful opportunity for Sitka and the wider Alaska community to come together to show support while having all contributions matched up to $25,000. To join in this effort to make the match, all you need to do is make a donation to the Friends of SJM between February 1, 2022 and April 30, 2022.

The Friends of SJM will be reaching out to Sitka on the radio, telephone, social media, and other means to share information about this campaign. Please be sure to also share about this match campaign on social media. If you share directly from the social media sharing links at the bottom of the fundraiser page (HERE), you will be entered into a giveaway of a $100 Amazon card. So be sure to get the word out and tell your friends about how they can help!

Donations can be made online at: FriendsofSJM.com/Match, by mail to: Friends of SJM, 104 College Drive, Sitka, AK 99835, or in-person at the Sheldon Jackson Museum.
