The Friends of Sheldon Jackson Museum are pleased to announce their upcoming donation match challenge! Donations to the Friends of Sheldon Jackson Museum made between February 1, 2022 and April 30, 2022 will be matched up to $25,000! This match challenge is made possible through the generosity of donors Carvel Glenn and Randall Lamb of Texas. We are so grateful for their continued support!
You may recall that in 2021, Carvel and Randall were the donors behind the single largest financial contribution in the history of the Friends of SJM. The two first visited Sitka in 2018, where they experienced the Sheldon Jackson Museum for the first time and, as it does for so many guests, the museum made a lasting impression. Carvel told the Sitka Sentinel in April 2021 that “every drawer was worth a museum,” and they appreciated the “breadth and depth” of the Sheldon Jackson Museum’s collection. It was from that first impression that an idea grew to help and support the Museum in improving access to this amazing collection and upgrading displays. Their groundbreaking 2021 donation will go towards capital improvements and exhibition upgrades.
These incredible donors from Texas have once again reached out to offer another monumental gift to the Friends of SJM to benefit the Sheldon Jackson Museum. What makes this most recent pledge unique is the inclusion of our local community in their efforts to support the Museum. Carvel and Randall will match each dollar donated by our community during the match period (Feb-Apr 2022) up to $25,000! This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together to show support and double its impact!
