Friends of Sheldon Jackson Museum will host Richard Jackson (Tlingit) for their Winter Lecture / Culture Share Series on Sat., March 13th at 2pm on Zoom. In his Zoom presentation entitled “Continuing the Legacy of Taalyei – Esther Shea,” Jackson will talk about the work of his mother, Esther Shea, how he has continued his mother’s legacy of sharing Tlingit language and culture through his own work in Ketchikan. He will share stories and images of his mother and her artwork, talk about her experience as a student at Sheldon Jackson, and share how he has continued in her footsteps through his own work with the Tongass Tlingit Cultural Heritage Institute.

Jackson’s event is one of many of the Friends of Sheldon Jackson Museum’s Share Your Culture/Share Your Research Series this happening this winter and early spring. They may also be posted to Friends of Sheldon Jackson Museum Facebook page and social media pages.
