This is day 2 of a 2-day workshop to make a tufted caribou brooch or necklace with Koyukon Athabascan artist Selina Alexander. The workshop is 8 hours total, spanning Thursday, May 7th and Friday, May 8th. This class is in-person only at Sheldon Jackson Museum. There is no zoom option available. The class is from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, with a hour long lunch break from noon – 1:00 pm.
The class is for all ages. Class size limited to 8 people.
Participants must attend both days. There is no fee to attend, but students will need to provide a check for $40 made out to the artist at the time of sign up to cover material costs. Materials will be provided at the start of the class. Students should bring a lint roller and static guard spray to class. Advanced registration required. Selina Alexander is a Koyukon Athabascan artist who creates with caribou tufting, porcupine quillwork, and beading. She is the SJM Native Artist in Residence from May 2 – 20, 2026.
