Artist-in Residence Larissa Kramer is teaching a 3.5 hour earring-making workshop with salmon skin on Friday afternoon, August 28, 2026. This workshop is available in-person at the museum and simultaneously online.

The class is for ages 7+.  Class size is limited to 8 in-person participants and up to 4 people via zoom.

Advanced registration required. To register, call (907) 747-8981 or stop by the museum. Space is limited. The workshop is free, but there is a material expense. In-person students need to make a $40 check out to Larissa Kramer at the time of sign up. The artist will provide materials at the first session.

Note: If people wish to participate online, they should sign up no later than August 15th to permit time for mailing supplies. There will be an shipping fee for kits mailed in addition to the $40 material fee. Artist contact information will be provided by museum staff at the time of registration. Consult with the artist directly to arrange shipping and color options for salmon skin.

Larissa Kramer is a Sugpiaq artist who creates jewelry and is a model boat builder. She often uses fish skin, beads or botanicals set in resin for her earrings. She is the SJM Native Artist in Residence from August 26 – September 15, 2026.
