On Friday, September 25th at 3:00 pm, Kris Waymire (Iñupiaq & Peruvian) will give a talk on the similarities in whaling traditions and practices among Long Island indigenous peoples (the Shinnecock, Unkechaug, Mattinecock, Montaukett, Setlcott Nation, and others) and the Iñupiat in northern Alaska (focusing on Kivalina).  This talk will be in-person at the Sheldon Jackson Museum and simultaneously on zoom.
