On Thursday, September 11th  from 12:30 – 3:30 pm, Danielle Larsen (Koyukon Athabascan, Unangax, Inupiaq) will teach a still life painting class for students ages 10+. This class will be in-person at the Sheldon Jackson Museum and simultaneously on zoom.

Advanced registration required. To register, call (907) 747-8981 or stop by the museum. The class size will be limited to 8 people. All participants need to register in advance. Zoom log-in information will be provided at registration.

Prior to the class, students should purchase (or assemble) the following materials:

  • 10 acrylic 1.5 oz paint tube set: black, white, cadmium yellow medium, cadmium red, ultramarine blue, phthalo blue, phthalo green, yellow ochre, burnt sienna, raw umber
  • 6 paint brushes set: oval wash brush (3/4″), angular brush (1/2″), round brush (size 4l), chisel blender brush (size 6), liner brush (size 20/0l)
  • 4 canvas: size 9″ x 12″ of sheets/ boards/ or stapled
  • paint palette, consider 19″ x 12″ paper palette pad
  • sketch book, pencils and sharpener
  • artist tape, paper towels, water cup
