The Friends of Sheldon Jackson Museum will stream Alaska Native Artist-in-Residence Abel Ryan (Tsimshian) giving a 1 hour virtual Residency Recap Talk on Thursday, July 16th at 3pm on Zoom. The Artist’s Recap Talk will outline the work he created while at the museum.

The next artist-in-residence will be June Pardue (Alutiiq/Sugpiaq). She arrives July 24th and will work in the museum most days during operating hours – Wednesday through Saturday noon-4pm. Please come visit June while she is here and consider signing up for her Virtual Earring Making Class – limited to 12 people and filling up, this class will happen Sat., July 25th 2-3:30pm and Tues., July 28th 2-3:30pm. Students must register in advance and obtain materials in advance or purchase a kit direct from June containing earring materials. The earrings will be made with fish skin or moose hide or felt and porcupine quills and beads.
