Join us on Saturday, June 28th, between 9:30 and 11:30am for this fun family-friendly community art event. The public is invited to witness a steamroller pressing a linoleum block print carved by the June artist, Liz Chikayaasix Morrow. This drop-in program is free and open to all ages. Liz has used the first week-and-a-half of her residency to carve a large-scale relief at her table in the museum. During this event, she will use a steamroller to transfer her carved print to paper.

Saturday, June 28th from 9:30 – 11:30 am
753 Alice Loop, Sitka Alaska
Free, Drop-In Public Program

Liz Morrow is an Unangax relief print maker and acrylic painter. She is the SJM Native Artist in Residence from June 17 – July 3, 2025.  As part of the Alaska Native Artist Residency Program, Liz Morrow is sharing her art with museum patrons, giving two artist talks, hosting this pubic event, and teaching a class.

In advance of this printing event, come to SJM to watch Liz carve during regular museum hours. After the prints are made, they will be available for a suggested donation at the Friends of SJM shop in the museum lobby. Contact FoSJM to pre-order.
