Members of the Friends of SJM are considering adopting a resolution to support changing the name of the Sheldon Jackson Museum. The vote is happening at our annual meeting on Saturday, May 3rd in the museum gallery and online. More information is available friendsofsjm.com/annualmeeting/

Members will vote the adopt or reject the full two-page resolution that asks if, “the Friends of Sheldon Jackson Museum express its support for initiating a process to rename the Sheldon Jackson Museum through appropriate state channels;” and if the Friends of SJM, “encourages appropriate state authorities to engage in consultation with Alaska Native organizations, cultural leaders, and other stakeholders in considering potential new names for the museum.”
