The Sheldon Jackson Museum will host a special youth event at 10am on Sat., Feb. 16th in honor of Elizabeth Peratrovich Day. At the event, children of all ages will have a chance to look at images, including prints of paintings and photographs of Elizabeth Peratrovich and make their own Elizabeth Peratrovich portrait using colored pencils and crayons. There will be handouts with information about this important civil rights leader, her life, and her contribution to rights for Alaska Native peoples. The Sheldon Jackson Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am until 4pm. Admission is waived for this event, but generally, admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, and free for children 18 and under and Friends of Sheldon Jackson Museum members and Alaska State Museum pass holders.
